Zodiac Death Valley (photo: Ria Burman) Photos and words by Ria Burman Sea Witch Productions presented a night of off the chain, top quality Bay Area bands at The Hemlock Tavern on Sunday. Opening with The Howling Wolves, an indie, blues-rock, sway-stomp-psych band of awesome, before Midnight Sons brought some good ol' country rock and roll to the room. Premiere: Vows – “Bohemian Baby”

Some Vows can never be broken. You've heard plenty from guitarist/singer Luke Sweeney lately, but his once-and-future-band Vows have been silent for the better part of the past two years. But now Sweeney has reunited with bassist Jitsun Sandoval and drummer Scott Noda, and Vows is poised to make a comeback, of sorts, with a big Valentine's Day show and a new album, which The Bay Bridged is pleased to share your first taste of. Without further ado, here is an exclusive premiere of "Bohemian Baby," the first single from new Vows album Mirages: Mirages by Vows Mirages was actually [...]

Get weird at Love City Horror Show on Thursday

2014 has been a great year for the mini festival. The fire in the underground -- the same one that fueled Ocean Beach Music and Arts Festival, Not Dead Yet Fest, and Hickey Fest, and the very same one that powers The Bay Bridged -- has always been there, burning steadily into the night. It has been overshadowed at times, in this city more than others, by forces more affluent but less tenacious than rock and roll, but with the help of these small, locally curated festivals, it burns on. The latest log in the fire is this week's Love City Horror Show. Organized by Love.City founder [...]

San Francisco-based outfit Zodiac Death Valley is headlining an evening of rock and roll at Milk Bar on January 26th, 2013. Also on the lineup is The Peach Kings, a soul-infused, smokey blues rock duo from Los Angeles that will fit nicely into this local lineup, considering co-vocalists Paige Wood and Steven Dies actually teamed up while living [...]
