Olympia, Washington's You Are Plural have made the trek down to San Francisco multiple times over the past few years. They must really like us! Or maybe it's just that singer/Wurlitzer-maestro Ephriam Nagler is that rarest of beasts, a Bay Area native, and he just can't stay away. Wild Ones are the latest indie pop band to emerge from the Portland scene that produced Typhoon and Bay Area favorites Radiation City (speaking of Radiation City, got your tix to Phono del Sol yet???). While Wild Ones' music shares some sonic similarities with their scene-mates—a flair for experimentation and overall smooth textures—they are definitely doing their own thing, incorporating enough hints of krautrock, electronic music, and synth pop to keep you on your toes. You Are Plural may currently reside in Seattle, but the Bay Area roots of Jen Grady (playing solo all over, as well as with Emily Jane White, Adam Haworth Stephens, Garrett Pierce, and more) and Ephraim Nagler are too notable to dismiss.
