YMTK, Julia Lewis bring the vibes to Brick + Mortar on August 9

The Bay Area needs more YMTK appearances. Always some new music up his sleeve, including a recent two-track Summer Pan Playlist drop, the Oakland-born, Los Angeles-based artist hits all the cues for day-party-friendly hip-hop that pushes an out-of-the-box sound without sacrificing the vibes. Somewhere between a rapper and a singer, YMTK's talent knows very few bounds — he's capable of lacing bass-heavy club bangers to smooth, glittery dance floor jams and collaborating with everyone from P-Lo, Rexx Life Raj, and the Cataracs.
