Last Saturday The Mallard put on their most impressive show to date. With a recent change in lineup, the blond is gone and Dylan is now full time on guitar. The dueling guitar work is sublime. There are Marquee Moon moments rarely heard in live music these days. Dylan and Greer intertwine notes in the best possible way. In 1965 they were smoking pot with Hendrix, opening for the Byrds, the Doors and Love, but then The Sloths vanished, their recordings unavailable unless you wanted to spend $6,000 on eBay. More than 45 years later, they return! There was a Friday show at the Rockit Room, but this story could only happen at Oakland's incredible Stork Club.
