DRINKS premiere “Laying Down Rock”
It's time, people: Get to know DRINKS. DRINKS is Cate Le Bon and Tim Presley, teamed up for retro-pop perfection. They've got a new single, "Laying Down Rock," and they've premiered it at Vogue, of all places. Take a listen below. "Laying Down Rock" is noticeably outfitted with White Fence's signature psychedelic flourishes. Everybody says it, and we're gonna say it, too: It's another Presley project inhabited by the ghost of Sell Out-era Who. Cate Le Bon is a Welsh singer, now settled in California. You probably already know Tim Presley: The man behind White Fence, he's a veteran of [...]
Pizza Punx celebrate two years at Santa Rosa show with White Fence and more
The North Bay's Pizza Punx started in 2013 as a way to alleviate the boredom of living in Sonoma County with a little injection of rock and roll. “Pizza Punx is about fuckin’ keeping it real and being bored as fuck and maybe giving a fuck about making your area a little more interesting,” Papa Pizza, one of their anonymous leaders, told the Oak Leaf News last year. “It’s really about rock 'n' roll and everything therein, eating too much pizza, and maybe vomiting periodically throughout the night at different people’s houses.” Sounds like a valiant mission, if you ask [...]

Twerps to release new album Range Anxiety, announce Bottom of the Hill show in March
Shortly after Twerps formed and premiered their self-titled debut album in 2011, they were already onstage at SXSW and CMJ and hitting tours with Mac DeMarco and Real Estate. Since then, they've been steadily producing more and more music, and will finally release their second full-length album Range Anxiety January 27 via Merge Records. The album's first single, the playful pop love song "Back to You", is as sunny as their home Melbourne and as innocent as their name would suggest. But that doesn't mean they've always sounded that way. Although the band has seen its fair share of lineup changes, they've embraced the change [...]

White Fence debuts “Like That” video
White Fence has released a new video—their first video ever, actually—for "Like That", off last month's For the Recently Found Innocent. Warning: This video contains blood, vomit, suggested nudity, and a CO that puts the Castro Hot Cop to shame. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iHylhlys5-k A sugar-shot of a song set against a darkened backdrop of prison life, "Like That", as many have suggested, contains strong whiffs of The Byrds, early Who, and myriad mid-'60s garage heroes. It also might not be a coincidence that this video comes like a week after White Fence's former label, Castle Face, announced it would start sending free [...]

Phono del Sol: White Fence poised for release of fifth LP
Tim Presley brings his project White Fence to Phono del Sol on July 12 in Potrero del Sol Park in San Francisco and, just ten days later, he's releasing his fifth full-length album under that moniker, entitled 'For the Recently Found Innocent', via Drag City. As Presley recently told both Spin and Interview, the album was recorded in Ty Segall's new LA garage-turned-studio with Segall acting as producer, which was a first for Presley – he recorded all of White Fence's previous albums on his own. Another first – he traded in his usual four-track recorder for Segall's eight-track. According [...]
