Violent Change releases debut LP on Catholic Guilt Records

We last heard from SF's Violent Change in October when the band dropped its debut EP Suck On The Gun via city-based label Melters. The excellent 7-inch was moderately successful, initially moving quickly off local record store shelves and garnering attention from a handful of media outlets. At the end of March, Violent Change returned with its first full-length via Catholic Guilt Records. The record is something of a departure from Suck On The Gun, not necessarily in terms of the songwriting (which remains just as choice as on the EP), but more in terms of its overall sonic qualities. Peaking Lights and Woods co-headline Great American Music Hall, 8/3/12

Those who were unable to get tickets for the sold out Woodsist Festival in Big Sur this weekend are in luck. Festival favorites Peaking Lights and Woods are co-headlining a Friday night show at the Great American Music Hall on August 3rd with support from California's Wet Illustrated. Peaking Lights are Indra Dunis and Aaron Coyes, a husband and wife duo who met each other while living in San Francisco. Splitting ways with the psychedelic drone group Rahdunes, the duo moved to Madison, Wisconsin where they formed their current lo-fi psych dub project. The band received significant recognition after releasing [...]

Brick & Mortar's free Wood Shoppe series begins 2/7/12

On Tuesday, February 7th, Brick & Mortar Music Hall presents the first installment of their Wood Shoppe series - a free, multi-band showcase that will occur on the first Tuesday of every month going forward. Wet Illustrated, Magic Leaves, Seattle's Noah Gundersen, and a Painted Palms DJ set round out the inaugural line up (8:30pm, free, 18+). According to Wet Illustrated's Facebook page, at midnight the band will engage in a live, interactive game of Words With Friends. We recommend hoarding vowels and getting those triple word scores ready now.

Wet Illustrated - "Gypsy Town" Here's another winning weird-pop gem from SF's Wet Illustrated. The band's first LP, 1x1x1, comes out on Tuesday, October 25th on True Panther. In November, Wet Illustrated will be playing a bunch of West Coast dates with Devon Williams, including a show at Amnesia on November 17th. Wet Illustrated – “Gypsy Town”

[wpaudio url="https://www.thebaybridged.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/04/03-Gypsy-Town.mp3" text="Wet Illustrated - Gypsy Town" dl="0"] Our first take of Wet Illustrated was when they kickstarted our 2011 Noise Pop Happy Hour into high gear with a loud, jocular opening set, driven by drummer Robbie Simon calling out vocals from the back of the stage. They made having fun look like rock'n'roll -- a startling, yet perfectly chosen opener. "Gypsy Town" is one of two songs Wet Illustrated posted to their Facebook page yesterday, to be released on an upcoming LP. We suspect more information will emerge on either their Facebook page or blog, as it becomes available. [...]
