The 2016 Switchboard Music Festival is the ninth annual installment of the day-long, genre-mixing fest, which showcases new works from a variety of local and out-of-town performers. This year's Switchboard takes place this Saturday at the Brava Theater, and it's headlined by Tyondai Braxton, previously of Battles. Braxton will be performing HIVE, described by his record label as "a live multimedia work that was part architectural installation and part ensemble performance with five musicians sitting cross-legged atop their own space-age oval pods.
