Tycho (photo: Jon Bauer) Berkeley's iconic Greek Theatre was graced by the smooth sounds of California's own visual artist and digital composer Tycho. They were also support by Los Angeles band Poolside, and our photographer Jon Bauer was there to capture both acts in the gallery below.

Tycho (photo: Jon Bauer) Scott Hansen is the founder and driving force of Bay Area techno band Tycho and played to his hometown last Friday night, June 30, 2017 at the Greek Theatre in Berkeley. Hansen even told the audience that night that he was looking forward to performing at the venue, as he had recorded their latest album, 2016's Epoch, very close to the venue. It was a special night that consisted of an encore of two additional songs. Also on the bill were Jaga Jazzist, a band from Norway that experiments with jazz, along with Norwegian DJ and songwriter [...]

Tycho’s remixed “Awake” out now, featuring RJD2, Baio, and more
Awake, the fourth studio album released by San Francisco's golden group Tycho, just received a new spin on its eight track length. A remixed version of the breakthrough LP was digitally released earlier this month on Ghostly International, with the physical copy to be released sometime in May. It's been nearly two years since the release of Awake, and since then its captivating and ambient tracks of atmospheric imagery continue to shine and stray away from the typical electronic groove. The album's title track is a definite go-to when waking up on those early mornings, and never ceases to fail at starting the day [...]
