Live This Month: February 2015 — an audio guide to upcoming SF concerts

http://media.libsyn.com/media/thebaybridged/LTM_February_2015.mp3 Download: Live This Month: February 2015 (Podcast #356) In Live This Month, we sample some of the great local and out-of-town bands performing in the coming month in the San Francisco Bay Area. Two Gallants handily win the award for the hardest-working band in the Bay Area this month. With a new album, We Are Undone, garnering great reviews, the local duo kicks off a ton of touring in North America and Europe over the next four months with three nights of back-to-back local shows. Two Gallants aren't the only locals with a new record, though. This month's podcast [...]

Interview: Two Gallants talks new LP We Are Undone

I don't always remember the exact moments when I discovered many of the bands I've come to love over the years, but I do distinctly recall the first time I heard Two Gallants.  It was 2010, I was a shiny new college grad trying to figure out what the hell I was going to do with my life like every other English major out there, planning a move to Los Angeles because I thought the change of scenery might provide a spark of inspiration.  Then a friend showed me "Steady Rollin'" off the band's absurdly underrated LP What The Toll [...]

Best of the Rest – January 2015 (Mikal Cronin, Geographer, Sonny & the Sunsets, & more)

Every month, our editors hear lots of great new music, at shows around the Bay, exploring the far reaches of the Interwebs, and sifting through the veritable deluge of emails from artists and publicists around the globe hawking the latest songs and videos. While we'd love to write about everything that catches our ear, it's impossible – there's just too much good music out there. This is an attempt at rounding up the latest and greatest that we didn't have the bandwidth to cover throughout the month – the Best of the Rest for January 2015. Former son of [...]

Two Gallants announce new album, share first single

On February 3, Two Gallants will release their fifth album (and first since 2012), We Are Undone, and you can check out the title track below. According to Adam Stephens: “‘We Are Undone’ was, without being too blunt about it, trying to make sense of this unending pressure to acquire and consume, and usually as conspicuously as possible, that has taken a hold of our culture.” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fViJR244URg The duo will play three local shows to celebrate the album's release before heading to Europe in February: at Leo's on February 5, The Chapel on February 6, and the Great American Music [...]

Two Gallants, Bay Area labels host Indie-pendence Day at Cal Academy

Science is science, art is art, and never the twain shall meet. Right? Wrong. This week (and a little bit of the next—read on), the California Academy of Science's immensely popular NightLife series will stage a salute to all things indie on July 3. Because 'Murica. Far from a one-time seasonal tie-in, this promises to be one of the coolest NightLife events ever produced: Bolstered by pours from local breweries, including but not limited to Pacific Brewing, Anchor Brewing, and 21st Amendment, the evening features presentations on the art of the mix from the San Francisco Mixtape Society and a gallery [...]

After a few months of quiet, Two Gallants have announced a handful — actually, less than a handful — of Northern California dates for the end of the year.
