BREAKING: Treasure Island Music Festival on hiatus
(photo: Ian Young) In an official statement this afternoon, organizers of the annual Treasure Island Music Festival announced that 2019's festival will no longer go on. A fixture of the fall festival lineup since 2007, Treasure Island got its start on its namesake location, featuring the best in independent rock, electronic, R&B and more. After taking a year off in 2017, the festival moved to Oakland's Middle Harbor Shoreline Park last year, coming roaring back with a lineup featuring festival favorites and indie heavy-hitters like Tame Impala, Courtney Barnett, and Santigold. The festival is now on "hiatus for the foreseeable [...]

A$AP Rocky (photo: Priscilla Rodriguez) Read our review here. After taking a year off, one of the best local festivals, Treasure Island Music Festival, returned to the Bay with a great two-day lineup of stellar music from a variety of genres. Headliners this year included A$AP Rocky and Tame Impala, but there were plenty of other great artists on the bill to make this a festival to remember. We were lucky to have our photographer Priscilla Rodriguez there to photograph each day. In addition to the headliners, she captured photos of Pusha T, Santigold, Courtney Barnett, Alex Cameron, Cigarettes After [...]
In a new location, Treasure Island picks up where it left off
Tame Impala (photo: Priscilla Rodriguez) After spending a year on the festival circuit sidelines, Treasure Island Music Festival returned this weekend with a revitalized spirit thanks to a brand-new location. Migrating just across the Bay from its namesake to Oakland’s Middle Harbor Shoreline Park, the two-day music festival fulfilled its promise to provide eclectic sets from established acts such as A$AP Rocky, Santigold, Hiatus Kaiyote, and Tame Impala. Co-produced by Noise Pop Industries and and Another Planet Entertainment, TIMF was without its signature ferris wheel and silent disco — but the decision bode well to focus solely on the music. [...]
