Thurston Moore’s solo tour comes to the Mission

After leaving the band that made him famous, Sonic Youth wunderkind Thurston Moore is forging ahead with his solo career. He’s been releasing albums under his own name since 1995’s Psychic Hearts, and formed a side band, Chelsea Light Moving, with Keith Wood of Hush Arbors. Whatever the project, he’s always tended in his other work to explore avenues that diverge from the Sonic Youth sound, which by now is well-known and often emulated — though there is of course stylistic crossover.
