The Good Luck Thrift Store Outfit (photo: Ria Burman) Photos and words by Ria Burman Dave Hanley opened the night at Slim's with an acoustic set after taking a break for a few years, returning with guitar string-gusto and foot-tapping flair. The Sumner Brothers performed a short solo set afterwards. Playing sad songs with a guitar sounds clichéd, but the Sumner solo captivated and intrigued with lyrical truth infused gravel smooth voice blues. The Sumner Brothers collectively joined for an enjoyable guitar-crescendo rock sesh. A fake-moustached crowd grew and grooved, sharing smiles and feel-good throughout the night.
