Ferocious Few return to Amnesia on Friday

Though they no longer call the Bay their home (boo!), Ferocious Few are back on the road and playing a hometown date at Amnesia this Friday. Ferocious Few could not have a more appropriate name—currently comprised of Bay native Francisco Fernandez and drummer Jessamyn Cuneo, the band is a snarling, seething whirlwind of punk rock and good ol'-fashioned country and western that goes good with a cold beer and dim lighting. But you don't need us to tell you that—you're likely already aware of them, and have been for years. These two have been kicking ass at the local level [...]

Video: The Ferocious Few play TheNeighborhood.TV

Back in April, we posted about a special intimate show with The Ferocious Few at the Bamm.TV headquarters in SOMA. Well, it happened and now we've got the video to prove it. Watch the Mission District's premiere rock-a-billy band power through the cut "Midnight Ghost" — a track from their debut album Juices — while pulsing white lights give the performance an edgy, almost threatening vibe.

The Ferocious Few to play free show for The Neighborhood (RSVP details here)

On April 12th, San Francisco rock and roll trio the The Ferocious Few will deliver a special performance for TheNeighborhood.TV, presented by Audyssey and Noise Pop. The Ferocious Few announced in February that they are close to finishing a new record which will see light sometime in 2012. The group has set up a Paypal account where fans can [...]

Ferocious Few have car stolen, prepare for SXSW

San Francisco rockers Ferocious Few have weathered quite a few storms in their days playing all over the city, but this one's especially bad: On Feb 25th, someone stole lead singer Francisco Fernandez's 1995 Red Nissan Pathfinder (License plate number 3SNY839) from 772 South Van Ness. It gets worse though. The van was full of every musical instrument Fernandez owns, including 3 guitars worth thousands of dollars, and the break-in happened just weeks before the band is scheduled to perform at SXSW. The good news: the band played a benefit show on Sunday to raise money. If you missed the [...]

The Ferocious Few release “Pocket Rock-It” iPhone app

The Ferocious Few made a name for themselves by performing pop-up shows all over San Francisco and beyond ("in parks, on street corners, at raucous outdoor festivals"). That's how most people continue to reference the duo - however, as the Ferocious Few gain more momentum, grow a wider fan base, and play more conventional shows, there's a chance that their guerrilla performing roots may be forgotten. Enter the Ferocious Few iPhone app. Do you miss seeing the Ferocious Few performing at the corner of 16th and Valencia on any given night? You can now whip out your iPhone instead and [...]

The Ferocious Few are currently on tour with Cyndi Lauper

How does this happen? How does a local two-piece band known primarily for their busking endeavors end up opening for Cyndi freakin' Lauper on her U.S. tour? Sure, the Ferocious Few landed a deal with Birdman Records for a full-length record after months of appearing on San Francisco street corners on any given evening. They drew a crowd at this year's Treasure Island Music Festival and impressed many at SxSW (including those who attended our very own Bay Area Takeover). They continue to play both on and off the streets, cultivating a noteworthy fan base along the way. The Ferocious Few [...]
