Interview: Minna Choi discusses the Magik*Magik Orchestra’s origins and the rewards of working with rock bands

Since its inception three years ago, The Magik*Magik Orchestra has become the Bay Area's go-to orchestral group for rock bands looking to transform their music through the addition of classical elements. I suspect that making those sorts of collaborations work isn't always easy, and Magik*Magik's success is surely due in no small part to the many talents of Artistic Director Minna Choi. The Dodos – “Black Night”

As previously reported, The Dodos' No Color is set for release on March 15th. Starting today (February 1st), fans may pre-order the album from the band's website, and as a reward, they will receive an immediate download of "Black Night." Pitchfork premiered "Black Night" today, and also caught the Dodos on Tunnelvision, featuring a recent live performance from the band in San Diego:

The Dodos announce ‘No Color’ tour, including hometown show at the Fillmore 4/7/11

As we've all heard by now, the new album from the Dodos comes out on March 15th via Frenchkiss, and the duo brought in Neko Case to sing on the album. That's really awesome. Starting February 1st, those who pre-order No Color on the Dodos' website will receive an immediate download of "Black Night," one of the songs from the new record.
