Noise Pop 2012 tickets for sale, new performers added: Wye Oak, Dodos, The Soft Pack

This week, Noise Pop added a few more big names to their list of confirmed performers for the 20th Anniversary Noise Pop Festival: The Soft Pack, Wye Oak, and San Francisco's very own Dodos. Badges and tickets are available to purchase now through Ticketfly. This past Monday, Noise Pop launched the "12 Days of Noise Pop" contest, with 12 sets of tickets to different festival events being given away daily. "So Cold" is a previously-unreleased song from The Dodos, who will be performing on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon on November 29th. Indie shows coming to Redwood City: Dodos and Release the Sunbird perform at Club Fox on 10/22/11

For a while now, I've been badgering friends on the Peninsula about the lack of good venues south of the City. Seriously, what's up with that? Blackbird Presents is aiming to help fill that void by bringing indie shows to the Fox Theatre and Club Fox in Redwood City. If you ask me, there's a lot of potential here, and they're kicking it off with a strong first outing: The Dodos and Release The Sunbird are coming to Club Fox on Saturday, October 22nd (8pm, $15/20, 21+). Tickets are on sale now.

New Video Roundup: The Dodos, Part Time, KIT, Speculator, Lumerians

A ton of new music videos have dropped recently. Here are five new ones from Bay Area artists that are definitely worth checking out. The Dodos' latest video from No Color arrived just before the band plays at the Henry Miller Library tonight. "19" comes from Part Time's excellent synth-pop album What Would You Say?. Part Time performs with Pamela, Surf Club, and Permanent Collection at Thee Parkside on September 15th. KIT's instrument-smashing 16mm clip for "Out of Ruins" was directed by Steven Andrew Garcia.
