Swami John Reis & The Blind Shake offer up ‘Modern Surf Classics’
Surf's up! Swami John Reis (yes, that's John Reis from Hot Snakes, Rocket From The Crypt, and Drive Like Jehu) is teaming up with Minneapolis band The Blind Shake for a modern set of surf instrumentals inspired by the '60s classics. For extra authenticity, Modern Surf Classics was recorded "underneath Crystal Pier in the Pacific Beach part of San Diego, CA with the expertise of Ben Moore and an outfitted VW Van as a mobile recording unit."
