Photos: Sylvan Esso at the Greek Theatre

Sylvan Esso (photo: Jon Bauer) Last Thursday saw a sold-out show at Berkley's historic Greek Theatre with a stacked lineup. The headliners were duo Sylvan Esso performing in support of last year's album Free Love, and they were joined by Local Natives and Samia, whose debut album The Baby also came out last year. Our photographer Jon Bauer was at this special night and captured all performers from this eclectic evening of beautiful live music. Check out the photos below.

Photos: Flock Of Dimes and Sylvan Esso at the Fox Theater

Flock of Dimes (photo: Estefany Gonzalez) You might recognize songwriter Jenn Wasner from projects such as Wye Oak,  an indie rock duo that composes wonderfully complex tunes with just two musicians. Yet, Wasner's solo project Flock of Dimes continues the minimalist approach to music and sees her performing a number of different instruments on stage at the same time. We caught up with Wasner on her current tour with Sylvan Esso for some portraits and closer look at her live performance. Sylvan Esso to play Independent on first headlining tour this month

They're natural performers—especially Meath, who at the Fillmore bounced around the stage, nearly upstaging Merrill Garbus (which, if you've ever caught Garbus you know is not an easy feat). In addition, they've been lauded, but not just by us. They've also caught the ear of NPR, The New York [...]

tUnE-yArDs & Sylvan Esso play first of two sold-out Fillmore shows

(Photos by Daniel Kielman) The eyes were everywhere Friday at The Fillmore. The stage was decorated with four basic-looking cutouts of them, and the whole backdrop was situated like Andy Warhol redecorated the set of Zenon. That outta this world tone is one Merrill Garbus has mastered, and though the dressing of the stage was an odd fit for openers Sylvan Esso, it perfectly space-suited Garbus and tUnE-yArDs. Sylvan Esso only opened the first of two sold-out nights at the Fillmore, even though they have been riding high following the release of their self-titled album in May. The angel-faced Amelia Meath has a [...]
