Seaweed Sway & Songbird Festival present Salt Minds, Il Gato, Lucky Cloud 7/18/10
Seaweed Sway and Songbird Festival have teamed up to promote some new projects with a show on Sunday, July 18th at the Make-Out Room (7:30 pm, $7, 21+). Salt Minds is the new musical brainchild of Mariee Sioux and Sean Kae from Dearest, a folksy project that weaves in elements of synth and electric guitar for a slightly scratchier result. il gato, while not particularly new to the San Francisco scene, will be playing on the heels of their recently-released album. All These Slippery Things is an ongoing lesson in lush folk compositions, and the band's first album since 2007. il [...]

Sunday night, SeaweedSway and Songbird Festival present a night of music celebrating Native American songwriter Buffy Sainte-Marie. If you've heard "Up Where We Belong" then you've heard a Sainte-Maire-penned song, but she has had an artistically and musically diverse career. A number of terrific local musicians are celebrating Sainte-Marie's music on Sunday, April 18th at the Make-Out Room (7:30pm, $8).
