Sleepy Sun creeps into darker territory with new 7"

Three albums deep, the psych rock and rollers of Sleepy Sun recently dropped their latest tune "11:32," from their new self-titled 7-inch out now via Dine Alone Records. Along with the b-side "The Lane," the single is the band's first offering since the 2012 LP Spine Hits, and if it is any indication of what we can expect from Sleepy Sun's fourth studio album, due to be released sometime next year, we should brace ourselves for a fully confident record that leans towards the heavier, darker side of the psychedelic spectrum. Earlier this month, the band premiered the music video for "11:32," [...]

Ticket Giveaway: Moon Block Party with Sleepy Sun, Glitter Wizard, JUJU, Al Lover & the Haters @ Brick + Mortar 10/13/12

Moon Block Party is throwing their first San Francisco event at Brick and Mortar Music Hall next weekend (10/13/12) with Sleepy Sun, JUJU (LA) and Glitter Wizard and Al Lover & the Haters. In addition to live music and DJ sets from Al Lover, there will be an art show adorning the club curated by local zine Sioux Magazine. If the name "Moon Block Party" doesn't ring a bell, but sounds pretty intriguing, then you're onto something. They produced a huge party earlier this year in LA during the weekend of Coachella, which The Bay Bridged attended. A short trip [...]

Photos: Sleepy Sun, Entrance Band, Allah-Las @ Moon Block Party in Pomona, CA 6/23/12

The 2nd annual Moon Block Party has come and gone and I figured it best if I post some pictures I took there; just to help establish my alibi for the night. You know, just in case. [nggallery id=moonblock-2012] The party went down in Pomona, CA. There were three stages of psychedelic bands of all persuasions, but I was pretty much at the Moon Stage all day, primarily because Blac Jesus & The Experimentalists kicked things off and I was hooked. The fact that they were later followed by Juju and Dahga Bloom in back-to-back sets of noisy, swirling, heavy [...]
