Silian Rail ask for Kickstarter support for “adventurous” new album and EP

Silian Rail have decided to launch a Kickstarter campaign. The two-piece instrumental band are looking to record an "adventurous" new album and EP, and they need your help to complete it: We are Silian Rail, and we are raising funds for the recording of our third full length record. We are two long lost friends from North Carolina who re-met in San Francisco by chance, and have been writing and performing instrumental music ever since. Recording this album will mark six years of us making music together. In addition to the full length record, we will also be recording various [...]

Efterklang, Buke and Gass, Silian Rail, Bottom of the Hill 9/20/10

Silian Rail is an Oakland two-piece, playing instrumental post rock. A guitar surgically attached to a mound of pedals, and a stack of drums. Eric, the drummer, was able to play both guitar and drums at once, pretty impressive, and even more impressive - he also played a foot bass controller (think oversized pedals that make up an octave on a piano that you can play with your foot, and in his case your bare foot). Though it was often dreamy, they were able to keep the audience awake with elaborate drumming, and a good amount of riffage. At one [...]

On Sunday, August 1st, Silian Rail were happy to crown a certain achievement: the release of Parhelion, the duo's excellent new album and latest rendition of instrumental post-rock after last year's And I, You to Pieces. The evening was jovial, relaxed, and full of talented local musicians. Honeycomb opened Sunday's show with an absolutely lovely set, and Tartufi closed out the evening with their signature experimental rock. More photos after the jump. Silian Rail Tartufi Honeycomb
