Speedy Ortiz (Photo: Tim Draut) Baby buzzband Speedy Ortiz rolled through Bottom of the Hill last night supporting their Best New Music certified debut full-length Major Arcana, which was released on Carpark Records about two weeks ago. Local punk rock bands Wild Moth and Shinobu opened the show. I was there. It was fun. San Francisco four-piece Wild Moth kicked off the night with a set of rowdy post-punk garage rock. Speedy Ortiz supporting debut album at Bottom of the Hill
Fresh off the release of their debut LP, Speedy Ortiz will headline a show at Bottom of the Hill this Thursday, July 25. Carpark Records label-mate and local favorite GRMLN was removed from the bill due to a scheduling conflict, but Wild Moth and San Jose's Shinobu will support. Major Arcana, the debut full-length from Western Massachusetts' Speedy Ortiz, was released July 9 on Carpark. Following the Sports EP and a few singles, the new album asserts that singer-guitarist Sadie Dupuis’ idiosyncratically arresting lyrical style is the driving force that separates the band from fellow '90s-rock revivalists.
