Royal Headache co-headlines Rickshaw Stop Thursday Night
Photo Credit: Jon Hunter With little fanfare, Aussie lo-fi punk quartet Royal Headache released one of the most refreshing albums of the year in 2012 (it came out in 2011 in their native country.) The group’s self-titled debut was a no-nonsense garage rock masterpiece, clocking in at an economic 12 songs and 26 minutes. Live This Month: May 2012 — an audio guide through SF concerts this month (Podcast #278) In Live This Month, we sample some of the great local and out-of-town bands performing in the coming month in the San Francisco Bay Area. It seems we're in a "when it rains, it pours" sort of place for significant new local albums, and this mix only scratches the surface of the latest in Bay Area records, with songs from Ty Segall & White Fence, Sleepy Sun, Whirr, and Blasted Canyons. On the touring front, Herman Dune and Royal Headache crossed different oceans to [...]
