Covering a veritable masterpiece takes some serious moxie, but SF/LA-based Aria Jalali of railcars has done right in putting his own fuzz/noise electronic pop stamp on Kate Bush's Hounds of Love. (By the way, I've been listening to the original a lot recently, and does it start off with the best 1-2 punch of any album ever or what?) The dually residing LA/SF electronic musician Aria Jalali, also known by the moniker railcars, has announced the release of an EP of remixes of his track, "Cathedral With No Eyes," originally from the 12" of the same name on Stumparumper last year. According to railcars, that release "recount[ed] the life of Edmund the Martyr, a 9th century king of East Anglia with songs about his life and succession to the throne as a young boy, his conquests, his suffering at the hands of vikings and death by their arrows." San Francisco's Railcars just got back from Europe and boy, are their arms tired discovered an excellent recording of their Paris show at La Fleche D'Or with Crystal Antlers.
