Cocktails and The Tambo Rays to play the Hemlock this Thursday, 7/5/12
Two promising San Francisco bands — Cocktails and The Tambo Rays — are joining up for a one-off gig at the Hemlock this Thursday, July 5th. Fellow SF lo-fi pop outfit PreTeen was supposed to play as well, but Cocktails frontman Patrick Clos recently confirmed that they were no longer part of the bill. Cocktails, self-described purveyors of "slop pop," recently recorded a handful of demos that they uploaded to SoundCloud individually and then together as a sort of digital EP under the title The Bedroom Sessions. Included among those demos is the dirty guitar-driven track "Tear It To Pieces", [...]

Bring canned food to help the shelter, use the $2 you'll save on admission to buy beer, and enjoy performances by Melted Toys, PreTeen, TINT and La Feline. That's some good stuff!

Listen to ‘Keep It Nice,’ the debut EP from SF’s PreTeen
Keep it Nice by PreTeen A band name like PreTeen makes looking for more information online feel like a dangerous, FBI-baiting gamble, but this young SF group's Keep It Nice EP offers some seriously catchy, offbeat jangle-pop. The band's giving away the five-song set on Bandcamp, and I encourage you to download it now. As the poster above shows, PreTeen is performing with The Tambo Rays and Baby Talk at the Hotel Utah on October 18th (8pm, $6). Preteen is no longer able to play this set - LENZ will be playing instead.
