Yes, it's true, Phono del Sol is back and free-er than ever. The best part of Phono in years past is that it was a true win-win: audiences got to see some great up-and-coming bands from both local and national scenes, and we received financial support to provide breaking Bay Area artists with visibility on our blog and on the bill at our events. After a one-year hiatus, The Bay Bridged is teaming up with Noise Pop to bring back everyone’s favorite local summer festival, Phono del Sol. Expect everything you've loved about past festivals — the music, the food, the flamingo fountain at the entrance — to return to Potrero del Sol Park in San Francisco this summer — this time, for FREE. Dear Friends, For 7 years, we’ve been extremely proud to bring you the Phono del Sol Music & Food Festival, our annual summer festival showcasing great local and touring bands in San Francisco’s Potrero del Sol Park. Phono del Sol started in 2011 as something of a lark, an opportunity to bring some rad bands to one of the City’s hidden gems, a secluded park quietly tucked between a hospital and a freeway, with a beautiful and tragically underutilized bandshell. It was a day of warm temps and cool music, with performances from Oh Sees, the Coathangers, Bells Atlas, Rayana Jay, and more drawing crowds to the Mission District for the afternoon.
