Perfect Pussy shines on a shared bill with Potty Mouth

(Photos by Daniel Kielman) After being forced to cancel their previous engagement at Rickshaw Stop, Perfect Pussy graced San Francisco with a delayed return last night, co-headlining a U.S. tour with Potty Mouth. Local bands Wild Moth and Crabapple rounded out the bill, bringing an end to the holiday weekend. Crabapple was the mellowest set of the night, opening with an enjoyable set of California pop. SF post-puck quartet Wild Moth, who had filled in the headlining spot for the partially cancelled March show, performed highlights from their Over, Again debut in addition to new material. While the band seemed [...]

Want to see Perfect Pussy, Potty Mouth, and Wild Moth on Monday?

Were you as disappointed as we were when Perfect Pussy had to cancel their Rickshaw Stop show in March? Well, just two months later, the band is again headed to the Rickshaw on Monday night. Touring with Potty Mouth, the two bands are paired with terrific locals Wild Moth and Crabapple, making for a great four-act bill that should eliminate any case of the Mondays you're feeling next week. Want to win tickets to the show? To enter for a chance to win tickets, email contest@thebaybridged.com with “Perfect Pussy” in the subject line and your full name in the body of the [...]

Perfect Pussy forced to cancel for tonight’s TBB Presents gig; show goes on…for FREE

Late last night, we learned that our favorite upstate New York punk outfit Perfect Pussy unfortunately had to cancel their performance at tonight's The Bay Bridged Presents show at Rickshaw Stop due to an emergency medical situation with a band member. Fortunately, the fine folks at the Rickshaw and here at TBB were able to bring on Pure Bliss to round out the lineup with Wild Moth and Happy Diving, and the show will go on...for FREE!!! That's right, all purchased tickets for tonight's show will be refunded in full, but we're still throwing quite the party with three great [...]

The Shape of Punk to Come: an interview with Perfect Pussy

The Syracuse, New York punk band Perfect Pussy came out with their debut LP, Say Yes to Love, only yesterday, but it feels like it has been out much longer than that. I only say that, because in the last week they have done so many interviews that it's hard to believe they're doing everything else they're doing. I spoke to guitarist Ray McAndrew over the phone as the band was traversing Southern California on the way to their next show; we commiserated over our SXSW experiences this year, and agreed on Tweens being a highlight from what we had [...]

The Bay Bridged Presents: Perfect Pussy, Wild Moth, Happy Diving @ Rickshaw Stop, 3/21/14

Those who are faint of heart should probably stay away from this one. Those who fancy themselves bold and enlightened enough to appreciate all types of music no matter its level of sonic density or blatant vulgarity- remember to at least bring a pair of earplugs. If there is one thing Perfect Pussy definitely isn't, it's subtle.  For all the kids out there too young to remember what real punk rock sounds like (not the easily packageable, corporately hijacked form that dominated radio stations and record charts in the '90s), a quick listen to the band's four-track demo tape exemplifies the genre [...]

Live This Month: March 2014 — an audio guide through upcoming SF concerts

http://media.libsyn.com/media/thebaybridged/LTM_March_2014.mp3 Download: Live This Month: March 2014 — an audio guide through upcoming SF concerts (Podcast #330) In Live This Month, we sample some of the great local and out-of-town bands performing in the coming month in the San Francisco Bay Area. With South by Southwest luring over one thousand bands to Austin later this month, it's touring season in indie music. While that means plenty of locals are already on the road, it also means some exciting opportunities to see buzzed-about out-of-town acts without taking a flight to Texas. Those acts include UK producer Forest Swords, touring around SXSW [...]
