Painted Palms release new single, "Forever"

Just a few weeks ago, San Francisco group Painted Palms released their newest single "Forever" off of their forthcoming full-length album of the same name. The new song comes just after the first single off the album, "Spinning Signs". The new track brings together heavy reverb, falsetto vocals, and simple-yet-fun rhythm and melody to form a song that is eclectic and mesmerizing. A loud synthesizer and guitar combo that open the song help to bring it up to vivid proportions - thrusting you into a tale of self-analysis and self-realization. The chorus captures a Beatles sound that is enchanting enough to include a vignette [...]

Painted Palms announce debut LP 'Forever'

San Francisco's Painted Palms announced the release of their first full-length album Forever, out January 14 via Polyvinyl. The duo previously released two EPs: the Carousel 7-inch, which dropped in March of this year, and 2011's Canopy. Reese Donohue and Christopher Prudhomme pieced together Forever gradually from states apart -- Donohue lives in San Francisco, and Prudhomme stayed in their native Louisiana -- but the album shows no signs of a distanced collaboration. The duo is clearly on the same wavelength, and the album's influences range from modern electric to '60s psych-pop, playing on themes of being lost between the real world and [...]

EOTB has been involved with numerous parts of the music community to date, including Noise Pop pop-ups, compilations and curated playlists, one-off shows in support of emerging local and non-local artists, as well as providing some editorial insight on The Bay Bridged's "Best Of" yearly roundup. Painted Palms to release new 'Carousel' 7" on March 5th, 2013

San Francisco’s psychedelic dream pop duo Painted Palms is set to release a new 7” record Carousel via Polyvinyl on March 5th, 2013. This is the band’s first release since their debut EP Canopy came out in the summer of 2011, complete with endorsement from Kevin Barnes of Of Montreal (who nabbed the band to support their nationwide tour), which gained the band a decent amount of exposure.
