Come all ye highwaymen, ye honky tonk heroes, ye ramblin' men and women over to the Starry Plough in Berkeley on Saturday to see some of the Bay's best Americana acts sing happy birthday to a legend: O.G. of outlaw country, Waylon Jennings. This Saturday night, the Starry Plough in Berkeley will host an evening paying tribute to Waylon Jennings organized by local country artists Matt Lundquist of Otto Mobile and the Moaners and Misisipi Mike Wolf. Jennings, although wildly popular in his time, seems somewhat under-appreciated today, with his contemporaries such as Willie Nelson and Johnny Cash garnering far more attention.
