Live This Week: French Vanilla, Midnight Snaxxx, others to play Oakland Popfest

KALX, Berkeley’s community radio station, is presenting a showcase of local and regional artists with a shared indie and punk ethos. Founded in 2017, the annual event benefits West Oakland Punks with Lunch, a DIY non-profit outreach organization providing food and other necessities to West Oakland’s homeless community. Joining the ranks to provide grooves for a purpose are Los Angeles-based French Vanilla, Oakland’s Midnite Snaxxx, Bam! Bam! and the World, as well as an array of artists from across the state. This weekend: First annual Oakland Popfest, presented by KALX

This weekend marks the first annual Oakland Popfest: four shows over three nights spotlighting indie pop bands from both sides of the Bay and a few out-of-towners that will surely shake things up and shake some hips.
