Olympia-based Nudity is rolling through the Bay Area this weekend and bringing some pretty heavy new songs along with them. Their upcoming LP Astronomicon is full of psychedelic rock and N.W.O.B.H.M. influences, referencing not only well-known '70s hard rock staples such as Judas Priest but also forgotten gems like Budgie and Captain Beyond. The title track from Nudity is a particular scorcher with its driving drum beat (is that a wood block I hear??), galloping, quasi-Iron Maiden middle section and screeching synths that effectively send the listener to outer space by the song's end.
