I probably don't even need to say how cool it was to see Mac McCaughan — leader of indie rock legends Superchunk and Portastatic, co-founder of Merge Records — in the intimate setting of the Swedish American Hall. McCaughan definitely played to the audience and the setting. Tonight: Moheak Radio happy hour at the Noise Pop Up Shop features The Bye Bye Blackbirds and The Trophy Fire
The 2012 Noise Pop Up Shop calendar rolls right along with Moheak Radio's happy hour soiree this Thursday (7pm, $5, 18+). The four hour event will feature live sets from local groups The Bye Bye Blackbirds (8pm) and The Trophy Fire (9:30pm), as well as a DJ set by Moheak's own Mo Herms. A full bar and snacks will be available throughout the night, along with Pop Up Shop mainstays Soul Groove slinging their chicken and waffle sandwich goodness.
