To celebrate the one-year anniversary of their life as a record label, Needle to the Groove is throwing a party at the Ritz. You might know Needle to the Groove as your friendly neighborhood record shop in the South and East Bay, with a Bay Bridged-approved selection and staff. But last year, they expanded into a label as well, releasing albums from locals like Aki Kumar and DJ Platurn. While the live music scene ebbs and flows, subject to city regulations and public interest, the South Bay's selection of record stores has been strong for the past several decades.
