Nanosaur + Jay Casio got the drip in video for new single, “Fountain”

Photo by @wheres.wables Jay Casio has tried to forge a new identity since going solo from his initial outfit, one-half of Oakland party rappers RnB Millionaires. In 2014, the autotuned rap-singer first traded in the jokey club-friendly anthems for the syrupy exposé on Water Based, then released 2017's more sunshine-y Jaycation. In that transformation, Jay seemed to have found the perfect producer partner in Text Me Records signee, Nanosaur. Their first track was 2018's 'emoceanal club banger' loosie, "Flippin' Boats" and today, the pair releases a new music video for "Fountain", the first single from an upcoming joint album, Wave [...]

Listen to NanosauR’s ‘Bottled Promises’ EP

NanosauR's Bottled Promises pops open with a sampling from the movie Beautiful Girls, a 1996 star-studded rom-com. Written out it might sound hokey, (maybe not to closet Dawson's Creek fans) but it's a crystalline set-up for the imminent chillwave.  Dark atmospheric beats hypnotize you until you're not sure if you're pixelated like in the old school Mac game NanosauR is named after, a time-traveling dinosaur egg collecting third person shooter. NanosauR is the moniker for Bay Area producer Michael Solorzano, who – only in his mid-twenties – already has built a prolific list of musical collaborators. He's opened for XXYYXX, Gold [...]

XXYYXX (Photo: Tim Draut) The faint smell of reefer already began to permeate the DNA Lounge as local beatmaker Nanosaur took the stage at 10pm, opening an event featuring Teebs and headliner XXYYXX as part of Thursday night's all electronic lineup during Noise Pop Fest 2013. Teen Daze was originally scheduled to support XXYYXX with a DJ set, but the Canadian dance musician unfortunately had trouble sorting out visa issues in time. Teebs filled in for Jamison with a set of original beats, and DJ Dials MC'd the event, spinning tracks between sets. Nanosaur was deep into his [...]

Video: Nanosaur – "T33n Dayze"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BlgDZg0Sqpo&feature=related East Bay dream-pop artist Nanosaur (the one man project of Michael Solorzano) has a new video for his single "T33n Dayze," shot entirely on the Venice Beach boardwalk. The song lives up to its name, embracing chillwave genre signifiers musically (shimmering keywords and distorted drums) and visually (lens flares, the beach). The light-hearted video follows a young woman as she dances along the boardwalk, engaging locals and tourists alike with her wild dance moves. Smiles ensue. Afterglow by NanosauR Check out Nanosaur live with Yalls and Shortcircles this Saturday, March 31st at Milk. Tickets are $6 at the door.
