Music Video Race is back!
Now that summer is basically in full swing, it's time to starting thinking about this year's Music Video Race! Expanding beyond San Francisco, the Music Video Race has gone national this year with installments in Los Angeles and Austin. The Austin installment will begin in September, followed by the LA installment in November. Bands and filmmakers: You only have a couple more days to enter the Music Video Race
The Music Video Race is back for its third year, and they need YOU—assuming you're a musician or filmmaker—to help make it as awesome as the past two years. But time is running out! You've got until midnight on Monday, June 9 to apply. Only 20 bands and 20 filmmakers will be selected, then randomly paired and given a weekend (July 11-13) to produce a music video. The Music Video Race is back for its second year, and they need you...if you're a film whiz or in a band, that is. I wrote about the MVR last time around, but since it's been a year, let me refresh your memory: MVR randomly pairs 20 filmmakers with 20 bands and gives them a weekend to conceive, shoot, and edit a music video (this year, that weekend is June 7–9). As conceptual events go, the Music Video Race is pretty solid. Like the tagline says: 20 bands. 20 filmmakers. 20 music videos. 1 weekend. 1 kick-ass party. To explain just a little bit more: 20 bands and 20 filmmakers go in, but only one comes out. Nah, I'm just bullshittin. The deal is: 20 bands and 20 filmmakers will get paired up randomly, and have one weekend to create a music video (May 18-20).
