Mission Creek Oakland Music Festival announced 2014 lineup

Now in its 6th year, the Mission Creek Oakland Music and Arts Festival has announced its 2014 lineup. Spanning ten days and eight venues, highlights of 2014's schedule doesn't limit itself to that top-tier of local indie—it's a true representation of the East Bay's eclectic, devil-may-care approach to music. Highlights include Bay Area and Bay Area-related favorites and newcomers like French Cassettes, Tele Novella, Rin Tin Tiger, Bart Davenport, The Blank Tapes and a ton more. Five years ago, the Mission Creek Oakland Music & Arts Festival started as a spinoff of San Francisco's Mission Creek festivities. In 2013, the festival's a force to be reckoned with all its own, with a wide variety of events throughout September that showcase a number of local bands in Oakland performance spaces. Things kicked off on Friday, and, in the next few weeks, bands like Yip Deceiver, Buttons, Fossor House, Danny Paul Grody, M. Help put on the 4th annual Mission Creek Oakland Festival, or submit your band to play

The Mission Creek Oakland Festival, the 4-year-old extension of San Francisco's Mission Creek Festival, needs your help! They've started a Kickstarter campaign to raise some cash money for the festival's expenses, and have until July 15 to reach their $1500 goal (they're at $232, currently). Perks for donating range from a shout-out on their Facebook page and even a high five at the fest (for a $1 contribution) to lifetime festival passes, dinner with MCO founders, extra special thank you in the festival guide, on all media platforms, and at opening and closing ceremonies (for a $1000 donation).
