Surf Club releases new split single with Manatee, plays Slim's on 4/23/13

The city of Stockton has made the number one spot on Forbes’ “America’s Most Miserable Cities” list for years, but there’s certainly no shortage of great bands coming out of this tiny East Bay town. From Craft Spells to Whirr, now Surf Club has joined the ranks of noteworthy Stockton-grown bands. On April 23rd, Surf Club will share the stage at Slim’s with Beach Fossils. Manatee – ‘Single Payer Class War’ single out on 7″ flexi

Manatee will be releasing a new pair of songs on the Single Payer Class War single. The 7" flexi will be available in December, but Slumberland will take your preorder today; the record includes the songs "Mr Super" (above) and "Chased By Anderson Cooper." "Mr. Super" is a hard, fast punk classic from a band that checks themselves with the right amount of humor. My memory of Manatee will forever be the comment made by their singer during a set at the Uptown in Oakland: "this song my son and I wrote about Obama." UPDATED: The release show will take [...]
