Introducing: Major Powers & The Lo-Fi Symphony pioneer “adventure rock”

When a band writes a bio that reads: "cliff-diving competition between Freddie Mercury and Tom Waits, while Danny Elfman makes out with Indiana Jones," you can go ahead and assume their music won't be droning monotones. On the contrary, Oakland's Major Powers & The Lo-Fi Symphony is a high-speed chase with pounding piano theatrics, Queen inspired vocals, and "self-described purveyors of Adventure Rock." While they all sing, Nick Powers (of Major Powers fame) plays piano while brothers Kevin and Dylan Gautschi are on guitars and drums.
