Woodsist Fest announces 2015 lineup featuring Real Estate, Woods, White Fence, and more
Woodsist Fest is back! The Big Sur festival is returning with a one day event on May 18, 2015 in a brand new location: the Loma Vista Gardens. Presented by (((folkYEAH!))), the sixth annual event features a stellar lineup of acts, including Real Estate, Woods, White Fence, Little Wings and more. Last year, Real Estate released the stellar album Atlas, widely regarded as one of the best of the year via Domino, so this year's fest should feature some incredible music in a gorgeous setting. 2014 Woodsist Fest announces lineup
Woodsist Fest has announced this year's Big Sur festival dates and lineup, with tickets going on sale this week. The two-day festival welcomes Woods, Angel Olsen, White Fence, Skygreen Leopards, and Kevin Morby on Tuesday, August 5. Real Estate, Foxygen, Little Wings, Steve Gunn, and Meg Baird will perform on Wednesday, August 6. As usual, the fest will take place at the awesome Henry Miller Memorial Library located in the scenic woods of Big Sur. 'I Need You Bad' – The Live Show! (win tickets!)
A little over a month ago, Polyvinyl Records announced the release of its garage rock compilation I Need You Bad, a sonic snapshot of the local garage rock scene. Curated by Sonny Smith of Sunny & the Sunsets, the comp features Bay Area staples like Cool Ghouls, Burnt Ones and Warm Soda as well as a few other artists from along the West Coast, including Burger Records' latest darlings The Memories, who come from Portland. Little Wings’ Made It Rain LP now out on vinyl, with limited-edition covers hand-painted by Kyle Field
Originally released on cassette as part of Gnome Life’s beautifully designed Echomancy series, Little Wings’ Made It Rain LP is now out on limited-edition vinyl, with only 300 copies in existence, in partnership with People in a Position to Know Recordings. Each record comes in a cover hand-painted by Kyle Field himself, whose artistic talents rival his songwriting abilities. Recorded live in The Dream Yurt in Big Sur in the middle of a rain storm, Gnome Life describes it as “a chill-out tape of eclectic covers, Little Wings classics remixed, a little storytelling, and a fully new song to boot.”
