Chaz Bundick (aka Toro y Moi, aka Les Sins) announces live album, Oakland show

A live concert album from chillwave pioneer Chaz Bundick, more widely recognized as Toro y Moi, was announced early last week. The album, titled Toro y Moi: Live From Trona will drop digitally on August 5. A limited edition double LP pressed in pink wax will also be made available, but not until November. The album was recorded live at the Trona Pinnacles, an atypical geological feature found in the California Desert National Conservation Area and have been made famous in sci-fi pop culture projects in their depiction of barren alien worlds. Toro y Moi also used the unique visual landscape to his benefit by [...]

Les Sins' Chaz Bundick (of Toro Y Moi fame) provides the propulsive bass line, snappy percussion, and washes of synth. Salman, who is also the frontman for Waterstrider, delivers a [...]

Hear Chaz Bundick's Les Sins' new 12", "Grind"/"Prelims"

Chaz Bundick may have just recently released Anything In Return, the third LP of his main moniker Toro Y Moi, but he is already back in action and offering up more new music under his lesser known side project Les Sins. The new 12” featuring two songs, “Grind” and “Prelims” dives deeper into the dance music genre than the fuzzy chillwave offerings of Toro Y Moi. Rather, Les Sins “Grind”/ “Prelims” takes the familiar sound of Bundick’s funky, soulful, retro vocals and incorporates a new element: house beats and dancey electronic pop. The release is the best type of good; [...]

Push the Feeling: Les Sins (DJ set) + Silver Hands (live)

Epicsauce is presenting a unique installment of its Friday night dance party series Push the Feeling on Sep. 7th with a special DJ set from Les Sins, the dance-ready, buzz-worthy alter ego of Toro Y Moi's Chaz Bundwick. The evening also marks the SF live debut of new SF/LA-based duo Silver Hands. Chaz actually started the Les Sins dancefloor project around the same time he started releasing fuzzy dream-pop as Toro Y Moi back in 2009. He released his first record as Les Sins in 2010, the Lina/Youth Gone 12" on Carpark. Now, he has a new Les Sins 7" [...]
