Interview: Lemonade talks new LP, show 6/17/12 at Rickshaw Stop

Originally hailing from San Francisco, the constantly evolving alternative dance trio Lemonade just released a new album in May, and are currently embarking on a headlining tour. The band consists of vocalist Callan Clendenin, drummer Alex Pasternak, and bassist Ben Steidel. Back in 2005, Lemonade already had their very first show booked before any material had been written; they improvised their first live set after rehearsing for only two weeks as a band. Luckily, the show was well received. After playing a few more shows, Lemonade eventually signed with True Panther Sounds, which released the band's self-titled full-length debut in [...]

Brooklyn-via-SF band Lemonade releases 'Diver'

Lemonade is back with a new album, music video, and tour just in time for summer. Neon Indian, Lemonade to play The Fillmore 4/24/2012

When the cringe-inducing term "chillwave" surfaced a few years back, it was cast upon such electro-pop talents as Washed Out, Toro y Moi, and Neon Indian. While these musicians deserved a far less throw away term for their musical contributions, the genre sparked immediate buzz and hordes of fans. Since then, each respective artist has managed to produce a sophomore effort that sees maturation in sound and focus. It's behind the late 2011 release, Era Extrana, that Neon Indian's Alan Palomo brings his evolving sound to The Fillmore on Tuesday, April 24th (8pm, $25). Brooklyn-via-SF trio Lemonade supports, creating a [...]

As an organization founded to champion local music, we focus on bands while they live here, but there's always a lingering feeling that great bands that depart are "the ones that got away." This podcast is a mix featuring thirteen bands [...]

Lemonade Releases Self-Titled Debut Tuesday; Shows This Weekend

Our very own frenzied psych-electro outfit Lemonade will release their debut album Tuesday on True Panther Sounds. While filling a niche that is quite sparse in the Bay Area, Lemonade's new project bombards listeners with what they do best - glitchy laptop sounds and synths galore. Lemonade - "Sunchips" The album was recorded by Chris Coady, of TV on the Radio and Blonde Redhead fame, and embraces unconventional and ethnic beats and sounds while maintaining their oft-mentioned DIY aesthetic. The band will play at the Elbo Room this Friday, Oct. 3, at Disco Shawn's monthly Tormenta Tropical Party [...]
