Lee Bob & The Truth share Standing Rock album, play Elbo Room

Lee Bob & The Truth are returning to San Francisco this week, taking the stage at Elbo Room on Thursday just before embarking on a new recording adventure for their third album. New music has been on Lee Bob's mind as of late. In November the group released an original song for Solidarity with Standing Rock, a ten-track compilation dedicated to the water protectors at Standing Rock. The album, which is available for free on Bandcamp, features a range of independent artists who are working in support of Standing Rock. Lee Bob had just returned from a visit, taking supplies [...]

Lee Bob & the Truth release ‘The Light,’ perform at Sweetwater May 31

A year after their debut LP, Lee Bob & the Truth are back with a follow-up full length, The Light, which is available for purchase via Bandcamp. Their mission of harking back to the days when blues was an integral component of rock and roll is alive and well on The Light, although the political messages feel a but more subdued than their debut. Don't expect lo-fi production that you sometimes find with modern blues rock albums on The Light. Although Lee Bob & the Truth aimed to retain a live, spontaneous feel (which they do with great success), they [...]

Interview: Lee Bob & the Truth on their debut LP

Photo: Kaitlyn Miller Lee Bob & the Truth, the trio of Lee Bob Watson, Josh Lippi, and Steve Wyreman, recently released their debut LP, The Truth, and as you'd expect if you're familiar with the players, it's a fine piece of work. The charismatic Watson joined forces with Lippi and Wyreman, a pair of extremely talented and accomplished musicians, to create an album that was completely independent from any outside influence, and is quite simply some damn fine rock and roll. The band was spread across the world last week, so we got together online for a chat about the [...]

Lee Bob & The Truth – “Let The Hate In (I Won’t)” b/w “Every 28 Hrs In America (Silent Night)”

The recent grand jury decisions not to prosecute white police officers accused of killing unarmed black men in Ferguson and Staten Island shocked a large portion of the country, causing Americans of all ilks to rise up and voice their anger and disillusionment in many different ways, whether it be taking to the streets or simply donning an "I CAN'T BREATHE" t-shirt. Now, Lee Bob & The Truth threw their collective hat into the ring, and the results are two foot-stomping and inspiring tracks, "Let The Hate In (I Won't)" and "Every 28 Hrs In America (Silent Night)". Premiere: Lee Bob & The Truth – “Mission Breakdown”

(Photo: Kaitlyn Miller) As we mentioned a couple months ago, Lee Bob Watson is back with his band Lee Bob & The Truth, and today we're happy to give you a first listen of the track "Mission Breakdown" off the band's forthcoming LP The Truth.
