Lekman conveys a sensitive, sharp lyrical craft, weaving stories of everyday life, both comical and poignant, through infectious melodies. Live This Month: September 2011 (Podcast #256) In Live This Month, we sample some of the great local and out-of-town bands performing in the coming month in the San Francisco Bay Area. Two big local-focused events top this month's calendar. Jens Lekman is performing at the California Academy of Sciences

Jens Lekman - Cowboy Boots by Swedish indie pop talent Jens Lekman just announced a new EP out September 20th, called An Argument With Myself, that he'll be supporting with a brief US tour this fall. Perhaps a little more surprising, Lekman's only announced San Francisco show is at the California Academy of Sciences, for a Treasure Island Music Festival-themed version of the Academy's Nightlife series on Thursday, September 29th (6pm, $12).
