Ticket Giveaway: Hunx & His Punx at The Chapel
Hunx & His Punx are coming back home to the bay on the 21st . . . and this time, everyone’s invited. Hunx & said Punx have taken a turn for the, well, punk lately, deviating from their usual whiskey-drunk doo-wop sound and channeling it into rootsy, raw, full-throttle punk rock on their latest record, Street Punk. Having recently wrapped a North American tour in support of the record, the band will play a string of (possibly ill-advised) all-ages West coast shows, with the San Francisco stop at The Chapel. We’re telling you all this because we’ve got two tickets. [...]
Hunx & His Punx's Street Punk, due 7/23/13
Since releasing his project's debut album in 2011, Seth Bogart, affectionately known as Hunx from Hunx & His Punx, has relocated to Los Angeles, released his 2012 solo record Hairdresser Blues, and assembled a new cast of characters to make up the foundation of his band. With Shannon and the Clams front woman Shannon Shaw joining him at the helm, Hunx ventured out of pop territory and into the realm of punk rock for "Bad Skin," the first single off of the outfit's sophomore LP, Street Punk. With faster riffs, grittier vocals and no time for any spoken word interludes, the 90-second track [...]
Seth Bogart of Hunx and His Punx starts own label, TV show
After a successful Kickstarter campaign to overcome financial hurdles (“sequins don't grow on trees, ya know??!!!”), the Brandy Baugh and Seth Bogart-produced TV variety show called Hollywood Nails is almost here. Campy, sleezy, and trashy are all adequate adjectives to describe the show about “gossip, BBWs, control top panty hose, good hair, JUSTICE, and gay pets,” duh. Like an episode of Pee Wee’s Playhouse on acid and glitter balls (that’s cocaine and glitter), the pilot episode of Hollywood Nails features cameos from Grass Widow, King Khan, Nobunny, King Tuff, Shannon Shaw, Alexis Blair Penney, among others and is tentatively scheduled [...]
Hunx and his Punx announce tour dates
Hunx and his Punx will be embarking on a brief West coast tour beginning – and ending – in September. Perhaps "embarking" is too grand of a word – it's four dates total. In fact, we can name them all right now: PomonaSanDiegoLosAngelesLasVegas. Phew. Did you catch all that? While it only adds up to a matter of hours, that doesn't mean it will be any less fun. Hunx, with or without his Punx, is famous for providing an, um, intimate live experience. Find the tour dates on their Facebook page. Hunx and his Punx will be touring with common [...]
Burger Boogaloo 2012 part 1: Shannon & the Clams, Heavy Cream, Nobunny, Hunx & his Punx
Meeeeow! Or whatever sound it is a leopard makes... Nashville's Heavy Cream played second at the Bottom of the Hill on Wednesday for the first of MANY Burger Boogaloo events this week. Jessica (pictured here) prowled around the stage singing, screaming and spitting into a fury of hard rockin' milky goodness. Shannon & the Clams kicked it all off. Cody (aka King Lollipop) delivered the Buddy Holly meets Mortimer Mouse treasures. Nobunny held the third position (and his left nipple). The bunny can't be stopped. He continues to churn out buckets of Ramones-esque ditties but with his signature nipple twist. [...]
Hunx & His Punx, NOBUNNY, Heavy Cream, and Shannon and the Clams at Bottom of the Hill tonight, March 21st
Tonight Oakland's retro rock-and-roll contingent will commandeer one of San Francisco's dearest music venues, and it will be served with a side of punk, and it will be awesome. Hot on the heels of a pair of new solo music videos, which we've written about here and here, Hunx will be reunited with his Punx at Bottom of the Hill, and Shannon and the Clams, whose charismatic frontwoman lends her gravelly croon to Hunx, will be the first to kick off the grittier-than-the-50s lineup. NOBUNNY will precede the headliner to round out the trio of Bay Area nostalgics, and Nashville's [...]

This track, “Always Forever,” is number four off of the forthcoming album, Hairdresser Blues, which drops February 28 on Hardly Art. Hunx - "Always Forever"
