Grass Widow - "Fried Egg" Past Time, the new album from SF's Grass Widow, is out today on Kill Rock Stars. Check out "Fried Egg" from the new album above, and the video for "Shadow" below. Thee Oh Sees announce new album, play @ Uptown Saturday

Thee Oh Sees, a band not know for idleness, are set to release another album of garage-rock proportions. Warm Slime comes out on May 11th via In the Red, who also released 2009's Help. Of course, the band's also been releasing a seemingly endless series of 7"s and EPs over the past year, as well as the Dog Poison album on Captured Tracks. Grass Widow signs to Kill Rock Stars

Grass Widow - "Tattoo" As it turns out, the Thao with The Get Down Stay Down/Thermals show last month actually featured three Kill Rock Stars-signed bands, not two. In addition to the co-headliners, Grass Widow has been signed to release an album on the Olympia/Portland label, also home to Bay Area greats Deerhoof. The label fondly attributes the newest acquisition to an "early hot tip from [their] then intern Aubrey Hornor." Grass Widow visited the studios of New Jersey freeform station WFMU in early November. The ten song, twenty-five minute session is available for download at the Free Music Archive. Listen and download below: The three ladies will play The Knockout December 29 with Sopors and Rank Xerox, followed by a string of shows in the Northwest and Northern California in the new year.

Grass Widow joins Vivian Girls at the Rickshaw Stop

Grass Widow, Live at the Eagle Tavern SF post-punk trio Grass Widow head to the Rickshaw Stop this Wednesday, where they'll be joining Vivian Girls and The Beets. Joe enjoyed seeing the band earlier this year, and they've been earning kudos like "Best Madcap Pop Maidens" from the Bay Guardian. What's more, their self-titled debut (Make A Mess Records) has been earning great reviews and they just released a new single on Captured Tracks.
