Gracie, a side project for Greg Mabry of SF's Evil Eyes and Nashville resident Casey Kaufman, recently released a three-song single on Eye in the Sky Records, the label run by Mabry his and Evil Eyes bandmate Joe Frabotta. The songs were recorded last summer while Mabry and Kaufman were living in an artist collective house and are bits of wonderfully catchy lo-fi surf pop. The bass-heavy production especially caught my ear and makes Gracie a nice little break from the norm.
