SAINT PEPSI making West Coast debut at F8 with Glenn Jackson

If caffeinated Catholics are the only things that come to mind when you hear the words SAINT PEPSI, you clearly haven't been paying enough attention to the Internet. The New York-based producer is making his West Coast debut this Saturday at F8 (1192 Folsom) with Glenn Jackson, Hawtline, and DJ Cool Greg. Don't miss your chance to catch a rare glimpse of the mysterious artist... outside of a Tinychat window, that is. https://twitter.com/saint_pepsi/status/433710740089098240 While the lush, sample-laden "liquid disco" sounds of SAINT PEPSI started to catch on during last year's fleeting vaporwave craze, his surprisingly spot-on edit of "Call Me [...]

Best of 2013: Daniel Senter’s 2013 East Bay highlights

I joined The Bay Bridged staff as a Production Associate last spring, and it has been endlessly enjoyable to be pulled deeper into the sonic recesses of the Bay Area’s various scenes by TBB. As an Oakland resident, my Best of list just happened to trend toward the Bay’s warmer side, so I went with it. A few 2013 East Bay highlights, in no particular order: Glenn Jackson – Morning Swim EP The sounds are bright, breathy, and totally groovy. This three song solo debut from Oakland’s Glenn Jackson is house music to be enjoyed outside – whether on a [...]

http://media.libsyn.com/media/thebaybridged/Electronic_Mix_2013.mp3 Download: Mixtape: Diving into San Francisco Bay Area Electronic Music (Podcast #315) As we've documented before on the podcast, the Bay Area has, for years, hosted a vibrant scene of electronic music producers. But while we've primarily focused our coverage on electronic music's pop side, SF is also home to a variety of innovative, compelling house and techno producers. In addition to the large crop of talented artists, there are significant event producers like Push the Feeling, the influential monthly that has hosted (and, indeed, drawn our attention to) many of the artists in this mix, as well as [...]
