FYF brings Thee Oh Sees, Ty Segall, Mikal Cronin, Antwon, Death Grips to L.A.
It turns out the most affordable California mega-festival of the summer also has one of the best lineups, with great local representation to boot. FYF Fest (or, Fuck Yeah Festival Festival, if you prefer) takes place August 24 and 25 in the L.A. State Historic Park down south. The weekend festival will feature performances from Bay Area ambassadors such as Thee Oh Sees, Mikal Cronin, and Antwon. We'll go ahead and claim Ty Segall and Toro Y Moi too, plus not-so-local Bay Bridged favorites including Death Grips, Chelsea Wolfe, Kurt Vile, Jonathan Richman, Mac DeMarco, and Nosaj Thing. Worthy of a Road Trip: FYF FEST 2012

Now historic downtown Los Angeles's latest incarnation is making a name for itself on that list too. Last week the FYF FEST lineup was officially announced, and we here at the Bay Bridged are convinced that the festival is definitely road trip worthy. These bands are nothing short of amazing, featuring seldom seen indie acts like Tiger & Woods, Papa, and Interpol's Paul banks as well as big name headliners [...]
Road trip recommendation: FYF Fest brings Girls, Guided by Voices, Descendents and more to downtown LA
Labor Day weekend is the perfect time for a road trip, and I'm planning to head down to LA for the 2011 FYF Fest, taking place on Saturday, September 3rd. SF's Girls and Ty Segall are part of a stacked bill that collects a top-notch array of indie rock, punk, and electronic acts. Guided by Voices! Explosions in the Sky! Broken Social Scene! Cass McCombs! Chromatics! Olivia Tremor Control! Twin Sister! Seriously, I could keep going, but the poster above is compelling enough. Cass McCombs - The Same Thing by DominoRecordCo Tickets are only $40, which strikes me as definitely [...]
