If you can rationalize heading out to Austin twice in two months, then we advise catching both SxSW and the Austin Psych Fest 4 (April 29-May 1 at the Mexitas Event Center). There's a broad definition of psych music in the bands serving as the main attractions at APF4 this year: The Black Angels, Roky Erickson, Atlas Sound, Crystal Stilts and Black Moth Super Rainbow.
