Thursday, local post-punk/shoegaze label Vibraphone Records celebrates four new releases from Foxtail Somersault, Vir, Astral, and Tomihira at Bottom of the Hill (8pm, $12). Holly Miranda, Foxtail Somersault, and Tortured Genies @ Cafe Du Nord, 3/9

A friend of mine from SoCal told me to check out Holly Miranda (because she is awesome, I was told) at the Fox. Scheduling conflicts prevented that from happening but, to my luck, Holly was playing Cafe du Nord only a few days later. Bay Area Girls Rock Camp Benefit Sunday

This Sunday, four local bands will take the stage for the noble purpose of supporting the Bay Area Girls Rock Camp (BAGRC) and the Girls Rock Camp Alliance. Foxtail Somersault, We Are Invisible, Oona and Megamoog will perform at El Rio with DJ Lisa Light of The Lovemakers providing the mood music between sets.
