San Francisco’s Fox & Woman have released their new song, “Belly of a Whale.” The song is split into two movements: side A and side B, just like that mixtape you made for your crush in middle school. You can stream them both below. Their first (and second) single, “Belly of a Whale” establishes the sound they’ve been inching toward for the past two years: moody and modern, but with the tiniest nod to the past. Split Screens – "Born"
Born by Split Screens Split Screens, the solo project of San Francisco session musician Jesse Cafiero, recently released a self-titled EP for streaming on his bandcamp page. This is the first solo release for Cafiero, who has played bass with the likes of Thao Nguyen, John Vanderslice, and Ezra Furman, in addition to playing lap steel and bass for DRMS. Fox & Woman play the Rickshaw Stop this Wednesday with Kelly McFarling and Lia Rose
Fox & Woman - Break Into My Heart Harmonizing folk quintet Fox & Woman bring their full-bodied acoustic sound to the Rickshaw this Wednesday, opening for Kelly McFarling and Lia Rose. McFarling and Rose are celebrating the release of their collaborative album Conspire, a four twelve-track effort featuring two six songs by each musician. The Last Mountain by Lia Rose Amid the wave of excellent Bay Area psych-rock and electro-pop that's been released the past few years, it's always nice to see the indie-folk scene keeping stride.
